Salsa Pequin

One 12 oz. can tomato juice or
   tomato sauce
2 T minced dry onions
1 T chile pequin or chile caribe
1 T garlic powder

1 t cumin
1 t black pepper
1 t whole ground oregano
1 t seasoning salt (optional)
1/2 cup chopped green chile

Place all ingredients in a stainless steel sauce pan.

Simmer over low heat for one hour.

Makes about 3 cups

This sauce is not only an excellent dip to serve with tostados, but also good poured over huevos rancheros or as a sauce for a taco dish.
