The Spanish Colonial Arts Society, www.spanishcolonial.org. One of first acts of preservation accomplished by this organization was to purchase El Santuario de Chimayo from the Abeyta family to preserve the structure, culture and history. They then gifted it to the Santa Fe Archdiocese in 1929. The organization sponsors Spanish Market, the oldest and largest exhibit and sale of traditional Spanish colonial art in the US.
